In 2022, we were approached by Fenton Whelan to help them design and develop the concierge desk for their new multi-million-pound development project, Park Modern, London.

Considering the prominence of this £500m project and the location in London, it was vital that the desk was special, and was as sculptural and artistic as it is functional. Our talented design and technical teams worked closely with Arta from Fenton Whelan to take the concept sketch into a 3Dimensional form and create a truly exceptional design piece for the space.

Our highly skilled makers then were able to take sculptural design and fabricate the piece to this high standard. We able to work and achieve the fluid lines with a totally seamless finish was a real challenge but one that our makers accomplished. The final result truly embodies the initial brief and the juxtaposition of the painted faux marble body and the liquid metal and leather wrap create a piece that is beautiful from every angle. Through the mixing of material, media and finishes (Painted faux marble, liquid metal and faux leather) gives this piece an elegancy and striking vision from the lobby, and from the street. Making a truly amazing vocal piece for the lobby of the project.

As a company we are extremely proud of this piece and the journey of the project from concept to final form, truly reflects what Anka as a design and fabrication studio is capable of.
