Reception Desk Set

Anka Bespoke was approached by Paola Leon Design to develop, fabricate and finish a custom set of reception desks - due to the design and material restrictions. Anka went about developing a bespoke faux marble finish to achieve this marble finish. Hand painted marbling by a skilled finisher to mimic the natural movement of marble whilst having full control of the veining and colouration that would not be achievable with a natural block of marble. The set is topped off by a jewel like liquid metal block which sits upon one of the desks.

The piece was initially fabricated and carved by hand by the team at Anka Bespoke. Giving anka full control of the form, the contrasting refined angles with the juxtaposition of the rock-like carved corners and edges. Once the shaping was complete the pieces were handed to the finisher for several stages of finishing, layers of paint and lacquer applied with skill and meticulous attention to detail, the artwork is built up of many layers of semi-transparent paints, this builds up the depth and the complexity of the finish as per the real stone. To the unknowing eye looks exactly like marble. As this is hand painted no two pieces will ever be the same giving a true unique piece of art/ function sculpture to the lobby space.
